Position Title: Supportive Housing Coordinator
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

 

Position Summary

The Supportive Housing Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the agency’s supportive housing programs. This role ensures a safe, supportive, and structured environment for residents while maintaining compliance with agency policies, behavioral health standards, and regulatory requirements. The coordinator provides direct interactions of participants, monitors adherence to house rules, supports staff coverage, and facilitates participant services to promote participant wellness and recovery.
The primary work location and designated reporting site for training will be assigned by the direct supervisor. All location details, scheduling information, and reporting instructions upon hire or as operational needs change.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct new participant interviews and participate in admissions.

  • Review and process new housing applications.

  • Accept and orient new participants into the supportive housing program.

  • Schedule interviews, appointments, and transportation for new participants.

  • Oversee day-to-day house operations, ensuring guidelines and house rules are followed.

  • Attend and actively participate in weekly house meetings.

  • Conduct room inspections and ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness.

  • Manage mail and communications for all supportive housing locations.

  • Implement and monitor behavioral contracts as needed for participant compliance.

  • Monitor participant group chat, curfews, and adherence to program expectations.

  • Approve and monitor resident travel, passes, and outings.

  • Address participant grievances promptly and professionally.

  • Manage participant exits and transitions according to program policy.

  • Respond to after-hour concerns and emergencies, ensuring participant safety.

  • Conduct monthly fire drills and ensure emergency preparedness.

  • Coordinate and monitor urinalysis testing (UAs) and file UA results.

  • Conduct medication check-ins, refills, and log reviews weekly.

  • Ensure clean water and essential supplies are available in housing facilities.

  • Provide coverage and support for Community Support Workers (CSWs) and Certified Peer Support Workers (CPSWs).

  • Review CSW/CPSW calendars, progress notes, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.

  • Monitor fuel levels in agency vehicles and coordinate transportation logistics.

  • Support marketing efforts related to supportive housing programs.

  • Will respond to all internal communications (email, Teams, phone, or messages) within 24 business hours, unless scheduled out of the office or on approved leave.

 

Qualifications

  •  Experience working in supportive housing, behavioral health, or social services programs.

  •  Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise staff and manage multiple tasks.

  •  Knowledge of behavioral health best practices, crisis intervention, and documentation standards.

  •  Ability to maintain accurate records in the EHR and Patient Online Portal.

  •  Effective communication skills with clients, staff, and external partners.

  •  Understanding of New Mexico housing, behavioral health regulations, and HIPAA compliance.

 

Scope of Practice

The Supportive Housing Coordinator ensures the safety, wellness, and recovery support of participants in agency housing programs. This includes implementing behavioral contracts, monitoring staff and participant adherence to program guidelines, managing emergencies, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Coordinators operate within agency policies and state and federal regulatory requirements, collaborating with clinical staff, support workers, and external agencies to ensure high-quality care and housing services.
