Position Summary
The Community Support Worker (CSW) Lead provides leadership, coordination, and oversight for the CSW team at Herron Solutions. This position ensures quality service delivery, staff support, and compliance with New Mexico Behavioral Health standards and Medicaid regulations. The CSW Lead manages team schedules, training modules, and documentation audits while supporting program development, onboarding, and interdepartmental collaboration. This role also assists in maintaining coverage for clients, facilitating IOP sessions as needed, and promoting staff growth through training, team-building, and supervision support.
The primary work location and designated reporting site for training will be assigned by the direct supervisor. All location details, scheduling information, and reporting instructions upon hire or as operational needs change.
Responsibilities
• Conduct 1-on-1 staffings with CSWs to review caseloads, documentation, and client progress.
• Oversee completion and accuracy of CSW charts, including regular chart audits for quality assurance.
• Manage CSW scheduling, ensuring appropriate client coverage and follow-ups.
• Coordinate CSW meetings, including creation of agendas, minutes, and follow-up action items.
• Oversee implementation of CCSS training modules, quizzes, and CEU modules for continuing education.
• Support onboarding of new CSWs, including training, orientation, and role familiarization.
• Assist in developing forms, checklists, and process improvements for documentation and service delivery.
• Plan and coordinate team-building events and staff appreciation activities.
• Facilitate or provide coverage for IOP sessions and assist with IOP coordination when needed.
• Participate in interviews and hiring processes for prospective CSWs.
• Oversee event planning, ensuring alignment with agency initiatives and community engagement.
• Assist with P&P revamp, updates, and review for accuracy and compliance with agency standards.
• Review and approve time-off requests for CSW staff and ensure scheduling adjustments are documented.
• Track CSW training completion and ensure staff maintain compliance with continuing education requirements.
• Coordinate CSW calendars and manage communication to ensure smooth coverage across all programs.
• Support QA processes through data collection, CSW performance monitoring, and client progress tracking.
• Maintain professional communication across departments to ensure integration of services and consistent care delivery.
• Participate in leadership and program development meetings as requested by management.
• Ensure all CSW activities align with Medicaid standards, agency procedures, and ethical practices.
• Oversee office and housing water checks and coordinate with maintenance or program leads as needed.
• Will respond to all internal communications (email, Teams, phone, or messages) within 24 business hours, unless
scheduled out of the office or on approved leave.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of behavioral health experience, with at least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory role.
• Completion of Community Support Worker certification (CCSS required).
• Strong understanding of Medicaid documentation, CCSS standards, and New Mexico Behavioral Health requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in ICANotes, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to train, motivate, and supervise staff in a supportive and professional manner.

Scope of Practice
The Community Support Worker (CSW) Lead provides direct supervision, training, and operational oversight for the CSW team. This position ensures compliance with CCSS standards, Medicaid requirements, and Herron Solutions policies. The CSW Lead supports service coordination, staff development, and quality assurance through audits, meetings, and performance tracking. While the CSW Lead may assist in direct client care when coverage is needed, the primary function of this role is to support CSW staff, promote effective communication, and uphold program integrity and excellence across all Herron Solutions programs and housing sites.
