Position Title: Clinical Supervisor
Reports To: Clinical Director

 

Position Summary

The Provider Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and support to clinical and support staff, including therapists, Community Support Workers (CSWs), and Certified Peer Support Workers (CPSWs). This position ensures the quality, consistency, and compliance of behavioral health services provided across all Herron Solutions programs and locations. The Supervisor monitors service delivery, documentation, and treatment outcomes while fostering a culture of compassion, professionalism, and accountability consistent with the agency’s mission and New Mexico behavioral health standards.

 

Responsibilities

 • Provide supervision, leadership, and performance oversight for assigned therapists, CSWs, and CPSWs.
• Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with New Mexico Behavioral Health regulations, BHSD/HCA

 standards, and agency policies.
• Review client charts and documentation in ICANotes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and Medicaid compliance.
• Conduct regular team meetings, case consultations, and staff check-ins to support staff growth and ensure service

 coordination.
• Oversee service delivery across all agency programs, including IOP, CCSS, CPSW, and supportive housing services.
• Support staff in meeting productivity standards and clinical documentation timelines.
• Review and approve treatment plans, progress notes, and assessments for completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Provide clinical supervision to therapists and weekly supervisory meetings to non-independently licensed staff as required by state regulations.
• Maintain supervision records, contracts, and logs in compliance with licensure requirements.
• Train new staff on documentation standards, role boundaries, and best practices in behavioral health service

 delivery.
• Assist in conflict resolution, performance reviews, and corrective action processes when necessary.
• Coordinate with the Clinical Director and Program Managers to identify service gaps, quality concerns, and training

 needs.
• Promote interdepartmental collaboration and continuity of care across all programs.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and professional ethical codes.
• Support agency initiatives, audits, and quality assurance efforts as assigned.

 • Will respond to all internal communications (email, Teams, phone, or messages) within 24   business hours, unless 

 scheduled out of the office or on approved leave.

 

Qualifications

 • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field required.
• Independent licensure in the State of New Mexico (LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, or equivalent) required.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience providing behavioral health services, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Medicaid, BHSD/HCA standards, and New Mexico behavioral health documentation and billing practices.
• Experience supervising both clinical and support staff in a community-based setting preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in ICANotes, Microsoft Teams, and other electronic systems.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain professional boundaries.

 

Scope of Practice

The Behavioral Health Agency Supervisor provides administrative and clinical oversight for staff and programs within Herron Solutions. This position ensures that therapists, CSWs, and CPSWs practice within their defined scopes, meet documentation and compliance standards, and provide services aligned with evidence-based and recovery-oriented practices. The Supervisor does not provide billing or administrative management but directly supports staff through leadership, training, supervision, and quality assurance. This role is accountable for maintaining compliance with all New Mexico licensure, Medicaid, and agency regulations, ensuring safe, ethical, and effective behavioral health service delivery.
